Eagle Sighting

4" x 4", oil on canvas
In Vinalhaven, Maine there's a stone eagle statue right downtown that was originally believed to be carved on the island at the turn of the century during the island's quarrying heyday, only problem is the stone isn't native to the island. Well, it's still pretty amazing....

  1. Nice job on the eagle. There are some nice galleries in that area of Maine.

  2. wow great job on the bird, the drawing is really good as is the modeling of the tones! Really explains the form in a nice brushy style!
