I've oiled out my underpaintings and now have to wait for them to dry before I begin the glazing so I thought I'd work on a quick landscape, using a reference photo that I took last summer at the state park beach on Vinalhaven, Maine.

  1. This is a great piece. I really like the road perspective and values in the shrubs.

  2. Lovely colors here Rob...Saw that Carol is coming back to Westford...are you signed up again? Saw it's full already! Take care

  3. I really love this one, Rob. Fresh and perfect color.

  4. Thanks for the positive comments everyone, they keep me plugging along.

Annelein, I've seen that Carol offers an advanced class...maybe she'll offer that in the northeast sometime.

  5. i wish i was a painter and knew what "oiled out" means. your composition seems effortless, rob. i love how all the vibrant compliment work in the lower right is balanced by the trees in the distance on the left...

  6. Beautiful Rob, you move from subject to subject with such ease! thanks for the kind comments on my florals. happy painting to you!
