Forbidden Love

Forbidden Love

There's something about glass in still life set ups that I just really like. It's always a challenge to paint what you see and not what you think it should look like.

  1. Hi Rob...love this squared off glass jar. You should do a whole series! Happy painting!

  2. I just had to laugh when I turned to your blog entry today! Remember how I named your similarly arranged workshop painting "engagement"? This title is great for this one--even better! It seems also like a take on Karen Jurick's custom of painting figures that are admiring framed artwork in galleries. It has a touch of Hopper's voyerism in it too? I like the "story" going on in this arrangement, and of course I know you saw that I also did a related painting today, a fruit in a glass cup! Great minds think alike! :) (although you did this arrangement first at the workshop!) It is painted excellently Rob! Great job

  3. Rob, I love the brush strokes on the jar!! So cool. In response to your comment on me selling my paintings on ebay, well, I have never tried. I don't know how anyone would find them.
