I like to flip back and forth between still life and landscapes. After creating a still life, which requires great attention to detail, landscapes allow you to get a little more creative, you can get away with more tweaking, adding or deleting. I find it very relaxing... unless of course it results in a mess from too much tweaking, adding and deleting.

I like this one a lot, Rob. It has a nice rythum to it!
ReplyDeleteGreat work, Rob - your titles are so clever, and your pears and fruit just dance with color. I saw you over on Kim VanderHoek's blog and had to stop over and see that gorgeous array of pears you were working on in your photo.
ReplyDeletehappy painting!
That's y favorite part of landscape painting...adding/deleting. Need a tree? Just move one from over there.
ReplyDeleteI like the small path in the foreground that leads me into this painting. You did a good job of directing me through the painting from foreground to background.
