For today's still life I tried to limit myself to a simple palette, using mostly yellows with subtle hints of green and blush. This is much lighter than I normally go in my paintings.
I really like the mood you've created with the close value range and warm tones. There's a nostalgic feel to the scene. I like the conversation between the rose and the apple. Nice work, Rob!
Rob this is really beautiful! I just love the realism here and the limited palette. The work shows real sensitivity and carful observation. Great work! I am enjoying visiting your blog!
Rob, I haven't been to your blog in awhile. Things have been hectic here. Anyway, it is such a great idea to limit the palette occasionally to reinforce values and composition. This has such a nice continuity to it.
