Painting with Oils
6" x 6", oil on stretched canvas
For today's still life I tried to limit myself to a simple palette, using mostly yellows with subtle hints of green and blush. This is much lighter than I normally go in my paintings.
I really like the mood you've created with the close value range and warm tones. There's a nostalgic feel to the scene. I like the conversation between the rose and the apple. Nice work, Rob!
I LOVE this one Rob. The golden atmosphere is simply exquisite.
Beautiful painting, Rob!
Rob this is really beautiful! I just love the realism here and the limited palette. The work shows real sensitivity and carful observation. Great work! I am enjoying visiting your blog!
Very nice Rob, but where's your quote? Really like the careful execution of your daily work.
Thanks for the comments everyone. Tim, I guess I forgot, I'll put one up for you.
Rob...Love the mood of this painting...it is mellow and it works for me! It has such a sense of calm...
LOL! Funny quote you added!
This is so warm and gorgeous!
Love the limited palette. It really pushes you to LOOK!
Checking in after a while absent...everything is looking great...what a nice mix you are posting for us to peruse...
Rob, I haven't been to your blog in awhile. Things have been hectic here. Anyway, it is such a great idea to limit the palette occasionally to reinforce values and composition. This has such a nice continuity to it.
